Danish language education

The programme is for individuals who cannot read or write in their mother tongue, as well as Latin illiterates with no knowledge of a European writing system. The programme concludes with the Danish Exam 1.

The aim is to teach you basic skills in speaking, reading, and writing Danish. This will help you manage everyday situations in the Danish labour market and participate as a citizen in Danish society.

Modules and the Danish Exam 1

Danish Education 1 consists of 5 modules of varying duration. Each module ends with a module test, which you must pass in order to move on to the next module. The final module concludes with a written and oral Danish Exam 1.

If you wish to continue learning Danish after completing Danish Education 1, you can enrol in an FVU course at Language Center Aalborg.

Teaching hours

At Language Center Aalborg, we offer Danish courses in the morning and in the evening.

The education programme is for you who have a short educational background from your home country. This means 8 to 10 years of schooling. The programme concludes with the Danish Language Test 2.

The aim of the educution is to teach you basic skills in speaking, reading, and writing Danish in order for you to manage the Danish labour market and as a citizen in Danish society.

Danish Education 2 consists of 6 modules of different durations. Each module ends with a module test that you must pass in order to move on to the next module. The final module concludes with a written and oral Danish Exam 2.

Teaching hours

At Language Center Aalborg, we offer Danish courses in the morning and in the evening.

The education programme is for you who have a medium-cycle or long-cycle educational background. This means that you have attended school for at least 12 years. This programme concludes with the Danish Exam 3.

The aim of the education is to raise your Danish level high enough for you to get a job or continue in an education programme, and for you to participate actively as a citizen in Danish society.

Danish Education 3 consists of 5 modules of different durations. Each module ends with a module test that you must pass in order to move on to the next module. The final module ends with a written and oral Danish Exam 3.

Study Test

After you have passed the Danish Exam 3, you may be able to continue to Module 6 that includes the Study Test, which is one of the admission requirements for higher education programmes in Denmark.

It requires special qualifications to be admitted to the Study Test class. Here, we assess you based on several factors, including your result from the Danish Exam 3.

Danish Education 3 at AAU Campus

Generally, the teaching takes place at the Language Center. However, it is possible to arrange the teaching to take place at the AAU Campus for AAU students and employees, if there is a large enough group of students and employees who can start at the same time.

Language Center Aalborg offers a specially designed online programme for students who exclusively participate in online courses.

This offer is for you who, for a shorter period of time, are unable to attend classes at the Language Center but still wish to learn Danish.

To participate in the online teaching, it is required that you maintain a high level of activity and are able to manage self‑study.

This programme is normally offered to learners who are at a minimum level of Module 3.3.
