Special conditions and assistive tools

There are several options for special exam conditions. Below you can see what these typically include.

Extended exam time

If you work more slowly due to your challenges, you may receive 25 percent extra time to complete the exam.

Use of assistive technology

If you are dyslexic, you may be permitted to use text‑to‑speech software or other reading and writing support tools that help you read task descriptions and spell correctly in your answers.

Please note that you must bring your own assistive tools, as Language Center Aalborg cannot provide them.

Separate exam room

If you are easily distracted or suffer from PTSD, you may be given the opportunity to take the exam in a separate room to provide a calmer and more controlled environment.

Presence of a helper

You may need a person who assists with practical tasks, such as navigating the exam materials or understanding and following instructions correctly, without the helper influencing the academic content of the exam.

You must be able to document your learning impairments. The documentation may be a statement from a doctor, psychologist, vision specialist, or another relevant professional confirming your learning impairment. It is important that this documentation is no more than 2 years old, unless the learning impairment is permanent, for example if you are dyslexic.
